Tuesday Newsday

Harvesting corn...in April. Not generally preferred. Better than no harvest at all, though...

Get outta here…git…move along! Whoa!!! Not you!  Please stick around.  Sorry.  I was just chasing the crickets away.  You are most certainly welcome to stay for as long as you’d like.  So…sorry for the sudden silence.  And the alliteration;)   We had some family stuff to take care of over the past week (and continuing a bit into this week, but I digress).

The aerial applicators are out again!   I had a blast shooting one in action a few days ago.  I’m processing the images now and will feature some of them here soon enough.  Also, priding myself on living on the bleeding edge, I decided to finally see what all the fuss was about regarding this so-called High Dynamic Range Imaging or HDR (or tone-mapping) to you hip kids, was all about.  I finally processed my first image in the HDR vein and I gotta say I like how it turned out.  I’m not looking to start a flame war, although mentioning HDR (or Edward v. Jacob for that matter) seems to pull all sorts of people out of the woodwork to chime in with their respective $0.02.  I won’t dive in to it too deep except to say that I like HDR when it’s done well and not thrown at every single image just because it can be (I know, I know, how diplomatic).

Wow, that was a lot of ado.  Without any more of previously mentioned ado, may I present Tuesday Newsday:

  • Congratulations to Dr. John Piper for 30 years at Bethlehem Baptist!  If you’re looking for some wisdom for your walk, head over to Dr. Piper’s Desiring God site.  They are truly committed to glorifying God with this ministry and offer just about every resource available there free of charge.
  • Finally, I try to listen to Dr. James McDonald’s messages every day.  If you are looking to grow in your walk with Christ or haven’t come to know him as your Savior yet, stop by for a daily dose of truth from God’s word.  One thing’s for certain, you will come away encouraged, challenged, convicted, and convinced of the truth of the Bible!

While I love staying up and listening to the thunder blast overhead, I should probably try to catch some sleep before my alarm starts going off pretty soon.  Thanks for sticking around!

Cya here again soon!
